Searidge Technologies pioneered, and currently manufactures and supplies, Remote Tower Centers (RTCs) for**airports. These RTCs use high resolution digital displays that provide a panoramic, real time view of the**airport and its airspace. The RTC may be located as desired, saving the cost of control tower construction and**enhancing airport security.**The remote control room relies on high performance, high resolution display screens that must simulate the**window views of traditional control towers. Current versions of Searidge Technology RTC product use a**horizontal array of liquid crystal (LC) television monitors arranged in portrait mode. Searidge Technology is**keen to develop significantly larger 4K resolution display modules that more closely simulate the views**provided by large windows.**At McMaster University, we have been involved in the research and development of technologies to seamlessly**tile LC displays together to form a continuous and uninterrupted viewing surface. The goal of this proposal is**to develop and demonstrate a prototype display screen that targets the requirements of brightness, resolution**and overall image quality suitabe for Searidge's purposes.
