Xibita has over 50 years' experience in custom award winning exhibit designs and environments on a national scale. They provide installation & dismantling, storage, exhibit management and video production services across Canada. They are seeking a projection solution that will satisfy their demanding market and operating environments. Such a projection solution must boast high image contrast and quality in dynamic, high ambient lighting environments, be low-profile, lightweight, highly portable and highly scalable to meet their customer's needs. Such a technology would open up a substantial opportunity to gain competitive advantage and provide unique, never before seen custom exhibit solutions. Xibita is seeking research in the area of digital projectors, projections screens and lighting systems to look for potential solutions that could open up this opportunity for them. At McMaster University, Dr. Adrian Kitai and his team have expertise in low-profile digital projection and control. Kitai's team has demonstrated full HD (high definition) seamless micro-projection systems and has over 15 years of experience in the area of large, scalable digital video and imaging solutions. The purpose of this proposal is to apply Adrian's expertise to enable Xibita's desire for competitive advantage with commercially viable, technically feasible projection solutions.
