This project will develop an array of growing substrates (e.g., for seed germination, seeding propagation, and large container crop production) using Canadian peat moss as major component for potential markets (e.g. Asian markets such as China, and markets in America) in the green industry, especially greenhouse and nursery productions. Research will be conducted at the University of Guelph, in both laboratory and greenhouses, in collaboration with a Canadian peat moss company. Results will be directly applicable by the industry partner.
