英文摘要
The Toronto based company Safeguard Biosystems (SGBio) is developing a reusable microarray-based molecular diagnostic platform for identifying bloodborne pathogenic bacteria. SGBio's unique molecular assay has the potential to replace the current standard of cell-culture based assays. Their approach offers a tremendous advantage in both reliability and efficiency of diagnosis. SGBio is looking to collaborate on the development of a Bioinformatics software platform to incorporate into their device. The software will improve the effectiveness of their product and streamline the throughput of their product workflow. Successful completion of this project will allow SGBio to bring their molecular diagnostic platform to market in the next 1-2 years, provide valuable training to HQP, and lead to significant R&D growth within the Toronto/Mississauga regions.
