项目摘要
Niagara Essential Oils & Blends (NEOB) is one of Ontario's largest producers and suppliers of plant-based
products and essential oils. NEOB offers a diverse range of natural personal care and food products that include
soaps, massage oils, culinary herbs, and spices. As part of their business growth strategy, NEOB would like to
expand into the niche market of morel mushrooms; a highly desired and rare delicacy. Each spring for a period
of only two to three weeks, morel mushrooms are painstakingly hunted and harvested for personal consumption
or sale. Since these mushrooms are only briefly in season in the wild, growth conditions for commercial year
round production is difficult. In partnership with the applicant, a leading fungal researcher at Brock University,
a stable method to produce morel mushrooms will be developed with the capacity to commercialize at NEOB's
facility.
