项目摘要

Landing gear is an integral and indispensable part of the aircraft. Although the landing gear design dates back since the aircraft was invented, a standardized methodology for its design is hard to find in the industry. The objective of the proposal is to develop an integrated computational methodology for transport category aircraft landing gear solution. The proposed project integrates different phases of landing gear design, often conducted separately, into an integrated computational methodology for robust landing gear solution. The high-fidelity simulations in the proposed project would aid in virtual design of a complete landing gear system that can be built efficiently, thus reducing time, cost, and risk.
