Morgan Solar has a patented optics technology for concentrating sunlight onto solar photovoltaic devices. The technology allows the combination of high energy-conversion efficencies and a lightweight and low-cost form factor. However, compared to smooth glass covers commonly used on traditional solar panels, the non-flat plastic optics used as covers on their solar panels are prone to dust accumulation. This limits the functionality and increases the long-term maintenance cost of their product.
