项目摘要
Northern Development Corporation (Nordevco) Associates Ltd. is a 30 year old diversified company built on a strong foundation of innovative solutions and customer driven service. One of the key technologies provided by Nordevco Associates Ltd is BactiDomus® Technology. BactiDomusTM technology uses microbiological matrices combined with a porous "carrier" to treat waste materials. Previous studies conducted in 2007 on livestock manure indicated that BactiDomusTM was capable of reducing nutrients and sludge volume. However, these studies were not designed to determine the co-relation between the amount of BactiDomusTM applied and phosphorus reduction achieved, nor the stability of the sludge. Nordevco Associates Ltd. has proposed to collaborate with Dr. Yuan at the University of Manitoba, in a joint research project to evaluate and optimize the performance of BactiDomusTM in reducing nutrient particularly Phosphorus in municipal wastewater lagoon. The overall objective of the study is to evaluate BactiDomusTM as a potential means of achieving Manitoba's phosphorous reduction strategies for municipal wastewater treatment systems.
