Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug use in Australia is widespread. Gastrointestinal ulceration and associated cancer are high due to Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID) induced injury. Drug development can provide the therapeutic benefits of NSAIDs as well as gastrointestinal protection, providing Australia with a leading position in a multi-billion dollar world market.
