英文摘要
In this project implementation in real time of Eco Friendly hybrid standalone power generation system (Eco-HSPGS) for isolated areas in Northern of Canada will be investigated. The proposed Eco-HSPGS consists of wind turbine (WT), solar PV arrays, diesel generators (DGs), battery bank, and water treatment system. It is controlled to get high efficiency from all the energy sources (ESs) and to provide clean, uninterrupted electric power to the connected isolated load with reduced cost. The system will be designed to survive and operate under severe climate conditions. In addition, to minimize the technician support in these remote areas, remotely controlled troubleshooting system will be introduced. New gearless WT driven variable speed transverse flux synchronous permanent magnetic generator will be used. New method to de-icing the surface of solar PV array and to keep warm the proposed Ni-Cd battery pack will be proposed. To regulate the system frequency and voltage, as well as, improving the power quality at the point of common coupling (PCC), new control strategy for the interfacing voltage source converter (VSC) will be developed. Robust phase locked loop (PLL) to ensure perfect synchronization between system elements will be developed. New control strategies for maximum power tracking from solar PV array and WT, as well as, water treatment system as a secondary load will be developed. For perfect synchronization between AC terminal of DGs and PCC, control strategy will be developed. To validate the proposed Eco-HSPGS and its control algorithm in real time under presence of severe conditions, modified Imalog industrial platform will be used.
