For four decades, the Institut de Recherche d'Hydro-Québec (IREQ) has put its expertise and energy intosupporting Hydro-Québec, helping the company, improve the performance of its operations, develop areas ofgrowth and better serve its customers. One of the main activities of IREQ focuses on the efficient simulation ofnew solutions for production, transmission and utilisation of electrical power. Two challenges are faced currently by IREQ in this field:1.Accelerate the simulation of transient electromagnetic phenomena, where perturbations are injected and theireffects are analyzed.2.Integrate the electrical power simulator and simulators form other physical fields. This project aims to find a custom approach, tailored specifically in order to overcome the challengesmentioned above.
