Ozone is a key trace gas in atmosphere. The accurate measurement of ozone gas' concentration is crucial forenvironment and climate change studies. An ozonsode system is carried by a balloon to altitudes of about 35km through the atmosphere. The conventional ozonsode system uses an electrochemical technique to measurethe concentration of ozone gas in a limited time. In this application, we address a crucial need for developing amicrofluidic based, low-power consumption technique for reading out the ozone concentrations in a longperiod of time. The success in developing novel low-power consumption ozonesonde technology grooms thecompany to become a world leader driving the cutting edge of ozonesonde technology and enhances ourknowledge in ozone science, which is crucial for Canada as a pioneered country in this science.
