Ensuring connectivity in crises is a critical issue as it allows fast and efficient reaction. For instance, in the caseof fire or natural disaster, communication among first responders (firefighters, police, etc.) and with the controlunit is of tremendous importance to coordinate the required actions. But, in such situations, traditionalcommunication means are not reliable for two main reasons: (1) there is high probability that the disasterdamages the network infrastructure, and (2) in these situations, there is often unusual increase of demand bynormal people for network resources to take information which causes net degradation of the quality of service.Thus, an alternative efficient protocol is required to ensure connectivity for first responders.In this work, we aim to take advantage of recent advances in communication to develop a protocol foremergency communication in crises situations employing multihop communication using device-to-device(D2D) and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) aided connections.
