英文摘要
Smart grid connects many systems intelligently, over two-way communication link, in order to provide cost-effective, safe, and reliable energy supply for the increasing electricity demands. Power line communication is an inevitable technology for smart grid communications to alleviate the need for laying extra cables, to provide remote monitoring capabilities, and facilitating management and optimization for such networks. For example, the core utility and distribution centers are connected to multiple home-area-networks (HANs) through the neighborhood-area-network (NAN). More specifically, a heterogeneous network that supports multi access technologies (RATs) is crucial for smart grid communications as the traffic on such networks is heterogeneous by nature (in terms of quality of service requirements). For example, advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) that enables utility providers to perform remote meter managements require low throughput and can tolerate high latency. Automated demand response (ADR) that enables an efficient use of the energy requires medium throughput and latency. Feeder automation (FA) that minimizes operation costs by controlling substations requires high throughput and low latency. We plan to research and develop efficient transceiver design using advanced modulation and coding scheme, signal Processing for interference mitigation and optimal resource allocation scheme
