英文摘要
Our proposed research addresses novel modes of display and manipulation of document images oncollaborative e-writing displays. Our partner company, Quirklogic, based in Calgary, AB provides e-writingdisplays as business productivity tools to help corporate teams spark and grow big ideas.Their flagship product, Quilla, is the world's largest eWriter, connecting people and content to boost theproductivity and creativity of on-site and remote teamwork. Recently debuted at CES 2017, a global consumerelectronics and consumer technology tradeshow that takes place every January in Las Vegas, NV, Quilla is aportable, thin, light, and low-energy consumption electronic whiteboard. Being always "on" and ready to use, itsaves user content automatically as it is written, and lets users share workbooks with remote users for real-timecollaborative content creation.QuirkLogic aims to improve how documents are imported and manipulated in Quilla. Quilla currently allows auser to import an external document that is displayed as a background, over which to create content. Theimported document is static and Quilla is not aware of what it is or what it contains, focusing solely on theuser's markings. In this project, we aim to provide a smarter way to import documents for a dynamic interactionand integration via computer vision technologies. We propose to develop a framework that facilitates document, flipchart, and whiteboard image transferring toQuilla in a suitable format for display and manipulation. The development of such a framework wouldsignificantly enhance the user experience and broaden Quilla's scope and functionalities.
