This project aims to assess the biological efficacy of Ginnalin A, a phenolic antioxidant compound extracted from red maples buds, in the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease using a murine model. TransBIOTech will first perform a standard pharmacokinetic analysis of Ginnalin A to establish compound bioavailability and proper dosage for the efficacy study. Using the DSS-induced colitis murine model, TransBIOTech will further establish the capability of Ginnalin A at reducing the model associated symptoms at the macroscopical, histological and biochemical levels.
