The Canada Research Chair in Water Quality Modelling develops innovative modelling methods to tackle a variety of water quality problems, in the wastewater transport and treatment system and in receiving waters. Our multidisciplinary investigations in these systems deal with removal and recovery of nutrients from wastewaters, reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, minimization of energy and chemical consumption, and understanding the behaviour of micropollutants such as pharmaceuticals and endocrine disrupting chemicals. We develop modelling methods to deal with uncertainty in modelling studies, to better design experiments and improve data quality, and to optimize design and operation of the urban water infrastructure.
