Particles possess many properties of a liquid when aerated and this feature can be utilized to make many processes much easier and more efficient. The proposed Canada Research Chair Program will maintain a world class research centre at Western on Particle Technology, to conduct fundamental research and to develop novel technologies that can be readily applied to the chemical, biochemical, environment, materials, and pharmaceutical industries. Commercialization of the technology through applications to many industrial processes will continue. The training opportunities through the proposed research projects will help to retain the best young minds in Canada and to prepare them for Canadian industry.
