Particles are used in 70% of process industry applications, and fluidization (suspending particles in fluid) is vital to the process of particle flow in many processes such as the plastic and fertilizer industries. Building on world-class particle research, the proposed CRC program will focus on new regimes of fluidization and expand their use to a wide variety of industrial applications. Technology developments will benefit material, bio/environmental, and pharmaceutical industries, leading to excellent commercialization opportunities. The program will provide HQPs with fundamental research and technical skills through work with industry partners, fostering collaborations that leverage research results to innovative industrial applications.
