My research programme will establish a proper engineering basis for regulating software intensive systems (SIS) by: developing techniques to systematically integrate different forms of evidence about the safety and effectiveness of SIS; to measure and evaluate safety cases for SIS; and developing engineering methods that produce high-quality SIS and produce the necessary evidence for evaluation. I will contribute to the development of model-driven engineering (MDE) methods and tools to help the automotive industry produce consistently high quality SIS in a cost-effective manner. I will also address issues in the health domain by exploiting work on workflow modelling and MDE.
