Phytoanalytics

植物分析学是一门研究植物及其制品的复杂化学的学科。我的研究调查了植物产生的各种化学物质，这些化合物是如何合成、调节和在植物组织内分配的，植物产品中植物化学物质的稳定性、可提取性和活性，以及植物化学物质在人类健康中的作用。这项研究有可能改善农业管理实践，推进这些产品的实验室测试，支持新疗法的开发，并影响基于植物的天然保健产品的监管政策。通过这项工作，我们可以确保加拿大人能够获得药用植物和天然保健产品所提供的潜在健康和经济效益。

Phytoanalytics is the study of the complex chemistry of plants and products made from plants. My research investigates the wide range of chemicals produced by plants, how these compounds are synthesized, regulated, and allocated within plant tissues, the stability, extractability and activity of phytochemicals in plant products, and the role of plant chemicals in human health. This research has the potential to improve agricultural management practices, advance laboratory testing of these products, support development of novel therapeutics, and effect policy in the regulation of botanical-based natural health products. Through this work, we can ensure Canadians can achieve the potential health and economic benefits afforded by medicinal plants and natural health products.
