The CRC in Phytoanalytics investigates the wide range of chemicals produced by plants, how they *are synthesized, regulated and allocated within plant tissues, their extractability and activity and *their role in plant and human health. This research has the potential to improve agricultural *management practices, advance laboratory testing of these products, support development of *novel therapeutics, and affect policy in the regulation of botanical-based natural health products. *Through this work, we can ensure Canadians achieve the potential health and economic benefits *afforded by medicinal plants and their products.
