英文摘要
In this project, Thought Technology will partner with the Dr. Blain-Moraes' lab at McGill University to**develop a wearable device that can be used in everyday environments, and which provides real-time auditory**feedback of a user's emotional and physiological state. The feasibility of classifying emotion based on patterns**of physiological signals has been long established. Signals of the autonomic nervous system (ANS) including**electrodermal activity (EDA), heart rate, and skin temperature have been used to discriminate between discrete**categories of emotions. The project will build upon Thought Technology's existing Triple Point Sensor (TPS),**and integrate it with biomusic - an Android-based app developed by Dr. Blain-Moraes which translates ANS**signals into musical output in a process known as sonification. This project will follow a rapid-prototyping**process, where quick prototypes will be developed and tested by iterating through the following three stages: 1)**Sensor hardware design; 2) Sonification design: In this stage, various auditory representations of ANS signals**will be designed and tested, with the goal of converging on a sonification that is optimal for giving users**feedback of their emotional and physiological states in everyday environments, and; 3) Assessment in a**dance/yoga studio. Upon completion of this project, we expect to have produced a wearable sensor that can be**effectively used in everyday environments, which can be used in future product launches.
