英文摘要
CTM Adhesives Inc. is a leader in the adhesive and coating technology in Canada. Their products are used in**the polymer industry and are manufactured according to its controlled technology. CTM Adhesives Inc.**produces epoxy and polyurethane composites. The company aims to improve its industrial procedure for a**better manufacturing of these products. The amounts of polymer components in poly(epoxy)/poly(urethane)**hybrids have to be controlled, since they have a significant impact on their physical and mechanical properties.**In this project, the composition and mechanical properties of these polymer hybrids that have different amounts**of polyurethane (10%, 20% and 30%) will be investigated. The obtained results will be compared with the data**from the samples containing less polyurethane that are currently manufactured by CTM Adhesives Inc. The**chemical composition and the viscosity of these products in correlation with the applied shear rate will also be**investigated, since these properties can depend on the amounts of the various components in the polymer**hybrids. The physical and mechanical properties of the polymer hybrids before and after coatings will be**investigated as well. This will be conducted using Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, mechanical**analysis and rheological studies. The results of this project should enable CTM Adhesives Inc. to modify its**industrial procedure in order to improve its adhesive and coating technology. We hope that will lead to a better**design and manufacture of the polymers used in the coating and adhesive industry and that their**commercialization will enable the industrial partner to increase their revenues.
