英文摘要
The good behavior of the stator winding insulation system of high voltage rotating machines is essential to
their reliability in normal operating conditions. In order to gain assurance that the winding insulation can safely
withstand the service voltage and assess its reliability after a given number of years in service, DC tests have
been used for decades. Two common procedures to apply the DC voltage are used in field, the step voltage test
and the ramped voltage test for which the voltage is linearly raised up to a predetermined level. In both cases,
modern equipment, such as the equipment available from IRIS Power, allows the current to be continuously
recorded. This project will compare the result from both these equipment using an appropriate modeling
technique, allowing the industrial partner to validate the information obtained from both equipment and will
evaluate their potential to assess the various defects that may be encountered in stator windings.
