Erosion corrosion occurs when particulates (rocks and sand) in salt water solutions remove rust or other**protective oxide layers on metal substrates, such as steel, faster than they can be reformed through further**corrosion of the metal substrate. Calfrac Well Services has issues with the erosion corrosion performance of**their fracking infrastructure, which is often enhanced by the additives used by Calfrac to reduce friction**between the pipelines and the fluids transported, biocides, and other additives. In this proposed work, we will**examine the exact influence of the additives used by Calfrac, as well as begin to develop strategies to improve**the erosion corrosion performance of their fracking infrastructure.
