英文摘要
The Screen Industries Research and Training Centre (SIRT) was established by Sheridan College in 2010 as**an applied research centre that would provide innovation support to Ontario's screen industries (film,**television, gaming, interactive media). In 2013, the centre was designated as a Technology Access Centre**(TAC) by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada, which enabled SIRT to expand**its capacity and join a national network ofTACs supporting a variety of industrial sectors from coast to coast.**Over the past two years, in response to industry demand and the potential growth in global markets, SIRT has**also become a leader in support for virtual and augmented reality technologies and applications.**Located at Pinewood Toronto Studios in the heart of the city's film and television studio district, SIRT is a**premier destination for applied research, consulting, professional development and industry collaboration.**The centre's advanced infrastructure and staff expertise provide companies, primarily small- and**medium-sized enterprises, with a unique support for product, process, and service development and**commercialization. SIRT also engages Sheridan students and faculty on applied research and other industry**projects, providing enhanced learning experiences for students and valuable opportunities for faculty while**building a competitive advantage for companies throughout the screen industries.
