Inspection of manufactured components and subassemblies containing multiple parts is important for**automated assembly and quality control in manufacturing. This project aims to develop vision-based 3D**inspection techniques specifically for automotive seat inspection and verification tasks that are complex and**laborious to achieve manually. New methods of structured lighting combined with new photogrammetric and**computer-vision techniques will be developed and tested for the specific automotive application and**manufacturing environment. This project will lead to greater manufacturing efficiency and reduced**manufacturing cost to greatly benefit the Canadian automotive industry.
