The DOT Power Platform (DOT) is a newly developed approach to autonomous agriculture with independent,**four-wheel steering. This results in a high degree of potential maneuverability. However, to take full advantage**of these capabilities, standard left-right type steering controls are inadequate. This collaborative project will**develop candidate controller strategies and test them on a smaller vehicle with similar maneuverability**characteristics as DOT, developed independently at the University of Saskatchewan.**Developed in Canada, DOT has generated global interest as a paradigm-shifting technology in the move toward**more automated agriculture. This project will contribute to the usability of the system and operator confidence,**aiding with early adoption. The success of the platform will, in turn, foster job growth in Canadian R&D and**manufacturing of compatible equipment, and address the growing issues of labor availability in rural areas.
