英文摘要
The Seabee Gold Operation in northern Saskatchewan has been in continuous operation for 27 years producing more than 1.5M ounces of gold. The site consists of the historically producing Seabee Mine Complex as well as the currently producing Santoy Mine Complex located 15 km to the east connected via all-weather road. Owned and operated by SSR Mining Inc., the operation employs approximately 329 people, many of whom are northern residents. SSR Mining has made a strong commitment to exploration on the property and elsewhere in the belt with the aim of extending the mine life well into the late 2020s and beyond.****The project will investigate the age and geochemistry of the Eisler intrusive complex, which occurs approximately 8 km south of the Santoy Mine Complex, which may be an analogue to the Laonil lake intrusive complex that hosts the Seabee Mine Complex. Geological investigations of the two intrusive complexes will test whether they are genetically related as they are separated by younger intrusive rocks. The research proposed will provide increased knowledge of the geological characteristics and setting of the Laonil Lake and Eisler intrusive complexes. This will lead to a more robust ore deposit model for gold mineralization in the area and in turn decrease the risk to the company by providing new geological vectors for exploration targeting. The outcomes of this research will enhance the possibility of finding a new economically viable gold deposit in the vicinity of existing mine infrastructure extending the life of mine for the Seabee Gold Operation.**
