英文摘要
**dormakaba Group, the industrial partner of this NSERC-ENGAGE project, designs and manufactures access control solutions (electro-mechanical & software systems) that are equipped with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) readers. Their BLE-enabled solutions are used to provide access (i.e. open doors) to designated restricted spaces to validated users using digital keys within a mobile application instead of the traditional method using physical keycards.****This NSERC-ENGAGE project aims to address a challenging and immediate problem. Specifically, when two doors are located in close vicinity the existing BLE-based solutions can fail to accurately identify the intended target. The currently used approach requires that users must always authenticate and enable the mobile applications on their phones before accessing a restricted space which is ultimately a hurdle in the adoption rate of mobile app-based access solution for the Dormakaba Group. In this project that applicant plans to fuse information from BLE beacons and internal sensors in the user's smartphone through dormakaba's app to resolve the aforementioned problem. ****
