The objective of the project is to design and develop a novel digital lens clock which would properly measure all of the available lens materials on the market today simply by cycling through indices. The result would be significantly more accurate measurements. Furthermore, it would be less likely to require calibration. And, in the event that it did, it would be very simple to recalibrate (much like a digital scale, pressing the" tare" button). Finally, it could be updated with new indices frequently so as to remain relevant as new technologies and innovations from lenses become available on the market. The proposed technology will increase the revenue of McCray Optical Supply Inc. and allow Centennial College's students to gain mechanical and electronic design skills through an industrial project.
