Interface between two phases is omnipresent in natural, environmental and *technological processes. Advances in interfacial sciences have created great positive *impact on extraction and separation of natural resources, renewable energy, advanced *analytics and functional material synthesis. The University of Alberta has the largest *cluster of researchers in the country working in these areas. This Canada Chair *program will bring unique expertise to this vital cluster. Dr Zhang is a pioneering *researcher in Soft Matter at Interfaces. She will combine interdisciplinary approaches *to significantly advance understanding of early stage precipitation and nanodroplets *in the context of oil processing and analytic technology.
