项目摘要
Mining and Pulp and paper are some of Canada's largest export industries. This research is directly aimed at improving the competitiveness of a Canadian engineering company through a better understanding of the behavior of slurries for the mining industry during transport in a pipe. We also have interest in extending this work for papermaking fibre suspensions. The goal of the work is to create both numerical simulations and experimental flow visualizations of poly-disperse, non-Brownian suspensions during gravity settling and pipe transport. A 2 year collaborative program with Fluor Canada Ltd and TRIUMF is proposed in which the research will be conducted by 1 PhD
