英文摘要
This project aims to build functioning devices that will allow online analysis of electrochemical organic reactions. It is a collaborative venture with FlowJEM Polymer Microfluidics Inc., a Toronto-based company that specializes in rapid and economical prototyping of robust microfluidic devices for academia and industry-based customers. Our goal is to integrate both electrochemical and infrared chemical imaging capabilities into a microfluidic device. Such a device would be used to develop new methods and greater understanding in electrochemical organic synthesis. Once completed, this work has the potential to attract significant interest from pharmaceutical and fine chemical companies. This research will provide a new product dimension for FlowJEM. It will expand the company's markets, increase revenue and provide new opportunities for Canadian-trained HQP.
