Dr. Bojan Mohar is a Canada Research Chair in Graph Theory at Simon Fraser University whose broad-based research focuses on interconnections between graphs, topology, geometry and algebra, and includes structural analysis of large graphs, a new research area triggered by applications in theoretical computer science, analysis of large data sets, the study of critical phenomena in theoretical physics and the emergence of large social networks. Although his program revolves around basic research in pure mathematics, he also predicts interdisciplinary applications. His overriding goals are to find new links between different areas of mathematics and to solve open mathematical problems.
