On forest resilience to global changes/ sur la résilience des forêts face aux changements globaux

This Canada Research Chair (CRC) aims at substantially increasing our capacity to design forest management practices to promote forest resilience to global changes. It will establish and use novel high-density multi-species tree experiments to studymechanisms of interaction among tree species and the underlying role of these mechanisms in the functioning and resilience of forest ecosystems to environmentalstressors. It will then integrate this better understanding of the role and importance of tree diversity in coping with environmental stressors with spatially-explicit stand dynamic and landscape models and network theory and functional diversity approaches to develop efficient sylvicultural approaches to promote forest resilience to managed forests of Canada and worldwide.
