The Industry 4.0 and the Internet of Things revolutions aim for fast and better-informed decisions based on complete and readily-acquired data. For medical, manufacturing or consumer electronics, better and cheaper sensors are paramount towards achieving this profound transformation. Recent years have seen an extraordinary push for better low-cost and printable optoelectronic materials and devices. However, fundamental challenges impede their integration into commercial-grade platforms.Our goal is to solidify an internationally-recognized program investigating the fundamental interrelations between the synthesis & processing, structural and physical properties of novel printable architectures to achieve high-performance low-cost optoelectronic devices fabricated using commercial-grade processing capabilities.
