项目摘要

This Tier 1 Canada Research Chair is dedicated to understanding and developing the reactivity of solids, solvent-free chemistry, and chemical reactions induced by mechanical force, also known as mechanochemistry, as a means to provide cleaner, safer and scalable methods for making molecules and materials. This program is designed to facilitate a shift of chemical research and manufacturing towards environmentally-friendly, materials-efficient processes, and combines cutting-edge fundamental mechanistic studies with development of novel instrumentation and new chemical transformations for pharmaceuticals and advanced materials, with minimum energy consumption, from readily accessible feedstocks, and without creating chemical solvent waste.
