Minute changes in the molecular processes driving our cells signal the onset of disease, or its reversal through treatment, long before outward signs or symptoms. The non-invasive detection of these changes is possible through MRI or PET, however has not yet been realized due to a lack of available tracer chemistry capable of amplifying these molecular signals. To this end, a toolbox of tracer chemistry platforms engineered to amplify these minute molecular changes and applicable to a broad range of molecular targets for both MRI and PET imaging will be developed, with the potential for improving disease diagnosis and therapy.
