This research program aims to develop the next generation of functional materials for efficient energy harvesting (solar cells), energy utilization (e-ink displays) and high-energy photon sensing (X-ray detection). The program will be developed through close collaboration with the research community and industry with the ultimate goal of commercializing these technologies. The impact of this program will be in training Highly Qualified Personnel at the forefront of highly interdisciplinary research and in providing Canada with a competitive edge in the booming frontiers, such as photovoltaics and consumer electronics.
