英文摘要
In the late nineties, the breakthrough discovery of a new way that our cells use to control its materials production have proven once again that biology has yet unexpected things to be found by researchers. Using the round worm as model animal, the discovery of this new cellular pathway called RNA interference or RNAi was acknowledged by the Nobel Committee in 2006 for its real potential in the development of RNAi-related technologies triggers by small molecules called siRNA that are extremely useful for biology research and for industries.
Our research group will pursue his research on siRNA-mediated gene regulation using the round worm as a model in order to better understand the details of this biological phenomenom. We believe that our innovative research program will contribute to uncover the importance of siRNAs in biology as well as helping in a better use of RNAi as a molecular technology in research laboratories and in industries.
