Development of a physical infrastructure optimized for the access network

New developments in wireless 5G technology and the upscaling of the physical infrastructure and cellularnetworks will have a great impact on the way we use mobile communication systems. Indeed, the vast amount of data exchanged by our connected systems will be greatly increased by the new infrastructure and enable to cross-connect systems and exchange data in quasi real time between systems, mobile phones and vehicles. Thisnew reality will impose the evolution of the access network in such a way it can transport, multiplex, manage and probe the immense data flux and high volume of information. Current long-haul architectures and systems are not suitable, technically and economically to be scaled down to support the new high data needs of theaccess network. The principal objective of this project is to design and validate a new architecture for theaccess network and develop the needed sub-systems to support this architecture.
