英文摘要
Software projects contain a plethora of valuable data that can be used to improve the end product - for example, to detect security vulnerabilities and improve software quality. However, current approaches of extracting and analyzing this data require significant manual effort and specialized knowledge. To overcome this problem, we are developing an approach, called AskGit, that enables various stakeholders (technical and non-technical) to access data from their software projects simply by asking questions in natural language.AskGit uses advanced artificial intelligence techniques to accurately understand questions about software projects. Then it extracts and analyzes the data to generate relevant answers. Our preliminary evaluation has demonstrated that AskGit can answer a wide variety of questions quickly (within milliseconds) with extremely high accuracy and greater consistency than other comparable (mostly manual) approaches. Additionally, AskGit helps speed up the software development process and decreases the software time-to-market and software development cost. Finally, AskGit can contribute to the Canadian AI ecosystem by developing AI and natural language processing techniques to enhance the chatbot's understanding of the users' queries. The project aims to evaluate the market for AskGit as a first step in the I2I proposal. The project will help the team learn about entrepreneurship, identify target customers and determine the path forward.
