项目摘要
The goal of this research program is to enable surgeons to use medical imaging to see through the tissue surface so that they can remove cancer without harming the critical structures adjacent to it. An augmented reality system will be developed for robot assisted surgery. It will show ultrasound images, as well as magnetic resonance images of the tissue underneath the surgical site. Working with university researchers and industrial partners, medical imaging techniques will be developed to accurately localize prostate and breast cancer for screening, diagnosis and treatment, impacting the healthcare of thousands of people.
