英文摘要
Hydro-environmental systems, such as rivers, estuaries, lakes, and coasts, play a central role in the economy, and environment of Canada and are the source of most devastating natural and man-made hazards. Predicting the behavior and underlying physics of these systems is crucial for improving the design of water infrastructure (e.g. dams), protection of the aquatic environments, and prediction/mitigation of water hazards. However due to their complexities, they often suffer from lack of accurate and efficient predictive tools. Prof. Shakibaeinia¿s research program aims to develop state-of-art accurate and efficient computational tools to bring a new understanding to these systems.
