The overall objective of the Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in Agroecosystems and Development is to advance the diagnostics of agroecosystems and translate optimal design into on-farm practice and policy. Dr. Isaac¿s multidisciplinary approach draws on ecology, biogeochemistry, and development studies to better understand the intersection of people and the plants they grow. Strategies, such as enhanced biodiversity in agricultural landscapes, can curb many of the negative impacts associated with current food production systems. Dr. Isaac¿s research program will develop these critical strategies and contribute novel diagnostics for the management of local and global sustainable agroecosystems.
