Specialised Information Service for Media, Communications and Film Studies "adlr.link"

Since 2014, the specialised information service adlr.link (Advanced Delivery of Library Resources for Communication, Media, and Film Studies) has been developed at Leipzig University Library for the disciplines of media, communication and film studies. adlr.link provides researchers throughout Germany with the required publications for their research needs in an efficient and immediate manner and enables access to the necessary full texts. The main goal of the renewal proposal is the ongoing technical development and consolidation of the adlr.link portal as well as the profiling and expansion of the content in order to provide users with a comprehensive, individual supply of information and literature tailored to their needs.This implies technical, content-related and communicative aspects, which are to be implemented in these objectives:a) Further development of search functionalities with regard to the visualisation of results, the handling of duplicate entries, the implementation of a generic interlibrary loan function and the evaluation of an explorative search functionb) Further development of contents and its accessibility through continued data curation and the acquisition of new data sources as well as through maintenance and expansion of the newly implemented backend system FIDISc) Expansion of research support and consulting services, especially with regard to Open Access transformation and the integration of research data into the adlr.link portald) Public relations and cooperation with target groupse) Strengthening the cooperation with FIDsThese objectives are to be pursued with focus on sustainable implementation and will be further developed and evaluated during the three-year project phase. The developments within the funding phase applied for here will be set up in such a way that subsequent use by other FIDs or libraries will be possible.
