Abnormality of free radical scavenging mechanism in skin fibroblasts with dementia of the Alzheimer type

我们检测了阿尔茨海默型痴呆(DAT)患者皮肤成纤维细胞中超氧化物歧化酶(SOD)基因的表达。将DAT患者分为三个亚组：A组：发展迅速的患者；B组：逐渐发展的患者；C组：发展非常缓慢的患者。Northern印迹分析检测细胞内超氧化物歧化酶基因表达水平。皮肤成纤维细胞中超氧化物歧化酶基因表达水平在DAT患者中降低，尤其是A组，其变化与DAT的临床病程密切相关，检测皮肤成纤维细胞中的SOD基因可能有助于DAT三个亚型的诊断。

We examined superoxide dismutase (SOD) mRNA in skin fibroblasts with dementia of the Alzheimer type (DAT). THE DAT patients were divided into three subgroups as follows : Group A : patients that developed rapidly ; Group B : patients that developed gradually ; Group C : patients that developed very slowly. We determined SOD mRNA levels by Northern blot analysis. SOD mRNA level in skin fibroblast decreased in DAT, especially Group A.The change of SOD mRNA was closely correlate with clinical course of DAT.The determination of SOD mRNA in skin fibroblast may be useful for the diagnosis of three subgroups of DAT.
