The comprehensive and many-sided research into the elementary and secondary education in the United States

本研究是根据从国家和地方两个方面对美国教育进行全面、多方面分析的计划提出的，具体来说，我们每年召开四次会议，确定了以下目的：1.通过各州教育部颁布的课程指导方针和课程框架，对美国确立的“学校成就”进行了澄清：2.探讨20世纪80年代以来美国教育的核心概念“识字”与“公平”之间的关系;通过几份报告，特别是每一科目的国家标准，在全国范围内阐明美国教育改革的运动。为了实现这些目的，我们举行了许多会议，邀请了一些成员以外的研究人员，研究了我们研究的背景资料。我们的研究结果包括在我们的中期报告（1994年）和最终报告（1995年）中。这些报告可以作为研究美国教育的基础资料。

This research was put forward, in accordance with the plan of being focused on the comprehensive and many-sided analysis from both national and local aspects of the United States education.To be concrete, the following purposes were established at our meetings which had been held four times a year ;1. to clarify "the school achievement" which the United States established, by means of curriculum guidelines and curriculum frameworks published by the Department of Education of the states :2. to examine the relationship between "literacy" and "equity", which are the key concepts of American education since 1980's ; and3. to clarify the movement, nationally, of the educational reform of the United States, by means of several reports, especially the National Standards of each subjects.To accomplish these purposes, many meetings were held, at which several researchers were invited outside our members and background information of our research were studied.Our research results are included in our interim (1994) and final (1995) reports. These reports could be useful as a fundamental materials for American education study.
